Question:

We are producing free to trim cross curves with the GHS CC command and we get
the following message on our output.

"Trim: zero at zero heel (Trim righting arm and heel held at zero)"

Should this statement appear in free to trim cross curves and is the output
still free to trim?

Answer:

Yes, The statement "trim: zero at zero heel (trim righting arm held at zero)"
should appear on free to trim cross curves. The vessel is searching for
equilibrium in trim as it heels therefore keeping the trim righting arm at
zero. To verify this point simply enter the RA command and look at the
righting arm in trim column and the degrees of trim column. You will see that
as the vessel trims the trim righting arm is nearly zero in all cases.
